It’s Women’s Month and while we practice daily empowerment with more than 65% of BODYTEC studio owners being women, this August we’re going one step further and donating all – yes, all – fees earned from trial session to rising female empowerment NPO, Women4Women.
Women4Women is a non-profit (NPO) organisation focused on female empowerment and community upliftment. The organisation was founded by well-known South-African celebrity and television presenter, Cindy Nell-Roberts, and its main goal is to improve the lives of the less fortunate and previously disadvantaged women of South Africa by providing skills, training and mentorship.
Since winning the Miss South Africa pageant in 2003, Cindy Nell-Roberts has made it her mission to create jobs for, and mentor females of all ages – and from all walks of life, in order to help improve the quality of life for South African women. Cindy is also renowned for presenting television shows such as Pasella, Survivor, Strictly Come Dancing and Wedding Bashers, not to mention being the Director of leading SA beauty conglomerate, Cosmetix.
Candice Fehrsen, Women4women Project and Development Manager, said that to empower women is to empower communities. Fehrsen said that often what is learned in school is not always enough to guarantee a successful future. “Our programs encompass vital life skills which we believe every young girl needs in order to walk into an empowered future. As young women are empowered so are their families and communities.”
“In 2019 we have visited 21 schools and reached over 2000 young girls with our life skills program and are running our life skills courses in SOWETO, Johannesburg South, Bloemfontein, Cape Town North and Limpopo. This is a 9-month course where the young girls come together weekly to a safe place where they are mentored and empowered into good decision making,” says Candice.
