‘During Season 7 of SA Idols 2011, I was known as ‘the big guy’. Being an overweight child, I can honestly say that I’d gotten used to hearing that as a polite reference to my weight. I’d tried all sorts of diets and pills, plus various exercise routines, which all proved disastrous for my overall health.
By the time the show was over and my new life of touring from city to city began, I was weighing in at my heaviest of 152kg – a steady diet of tour food, being garage pies and fast food in-between and after shows were the norm. Not much time was given to exercise and by the time I had my health assessment done, I was coasting dangerously close to becoming diabetic; my blood pressure was too high, and I wasn’t sleeping well.
I had made the decision to start eating properly and exercising more regularly. Unfortunately, I was never able to break enough time to really focus and bring down the weight.
It was in 2013 that I tried BODYTEC. I was skeptical at first, but once I had met with the team at BODYTEC, they were able to explain the science behind the EMS training.
I can honestly say that it has changed my life!
Once I had made the necessary adjustment to my diet and started eating properly, I then simply used the gym to handle my daily cardio and stretching. BODYTEC literally handled the rest in 20 minutes, once a week. People still don’t believe me when I tell them that I don’t do weight training.
I have lost 48kg since then and I am very much set in my routine. The program never fails to challenge me and I am never leaving a session without feeling like I have been pushed to the limit. It’s the absolute perfect setup for my busy lifestyle!’
