Meet Tobi…

Triathlete and Social Media Manager

In 2018, he decided to put his body to the ultimate test of not only becoming a competitive runner but a swimmer and cyclist too. Armed with a definite goal and lots of ambition, he set out to be the best triathlete that he could be, and within his first year of consistent training, he qualified for the Ironman National Championships, as well as the 70.3 World Championships, where he received top 50 placement among over 2000 triathletes.

Since he is currently training to qualify for two triathlete world championships, coaching aspiring triathletes to achieve their personal goals, while also working as a Social Media Manager, he says that time management when scheduling workouts, is his biggest challenge. “Training a minimum of two times a day and fitting in work consists of a lot of planning.”

While working on his triathlon performance, his mother introduced him to EMS training, and he was intrigued by the idea of a 20-minute workout but what eventually drew him to join BODYTEC Stellenbosch was his intention to improve his strength and stability as an athlete.

“I was surprised by the intense full-body workout in just 20 minutes! It’s a big pro with time management being a daily challenge.” He was also finally able to focus on his slow-twitch muscles which he said was much-needed for endurance athletes. “Not only did BODYTEC contribute to my overall strength, but it is continuously extending my pain threshold as an endurance athlete.”

Using EMS training as an inclusion to his athletic abilities has helped him reach greater results in a short period of time, as well as affords him more time to spend with family and friends since traditional gym time has been reduced.

How BODYTEC EMS does more for you in 20 minutes

Stronger and more intense muscle contractions

BODYTEC uses Electro Muscle Stimulation (EMS) to achieve stronger, more intense muscle contractions than a voluntary exertion can achieve alone.

Focuses on specific muscle groups

Your personal trainer can control each muscle group by adjusting the training intensity of the various muscle groups on the EMS device according to your individual goals.

It activates up to 90% of the muscles

During EMS training, 90% of muscles are activated simultaneously with each contraction.
