Meet Antony…
With a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of the Witwatersrand behind him, Antony spent his post-university years cutting his architectural teeth at a handful of key practices in Johannesburg. This experience culminated in a prestigious 1998 SAIA Award of Merit for the Pharmaceutical Society of Southern Africa headquarters in Glenhove, whilst practising as an associate at Alfio Torrisi Architects.
In 2000 Antony relocated to Dublin, Ireland where he lived for five years working as a design architect on large-scale architectural projects realised during the Celtic Tiger boom. He returned to Cape Town in 2004 and is presently a director at Team Architects (www.teamarchitects.co.za), where he has been involved in the design and realisation of over 300 retail, domestic and commercial projects, both nationally and internationally.
Antony is passionate about the design process and product with its ability to add value and impact positively on people’s lives and lifestyles. Having met the BODYTEC® founders as clients, he was intrigued by what sounded like a unique, efficient and creative fitness concept to complement the more conventional forms of exercise, be it gym, cycling or running. Feeling is believing…
Some muscle stiffness following his first 20-minute trial was enough to encourage him to commit. ‘Now a regular at City Bowl for just over a year, I look forward to the weekly workout and the challenge it brings; it is always intense, but within your control and limits, expertly guided and subtly varied by the fully engaged trainers. Post each session comes with a sense of accomplishment and I love the fact that it seems to get harder every time!’
A recent development is training together with a mate on a Friday. ‘We get to catch up, keep in shape and focus our competitive edge whilst noticeably improving muscle tone, flexibility, stamina and strength. What could be a better way to kickstart the weekend?’
