Meet Angelique…
Exercise and getting outdoors is a family affair for the BODYTEC Erasmuskloof owner.
FINDING THE RIGHT FIT
Angelique’s sister originally introduced her to her first EMS session. She, in turn, encouraged her husband Martin to try it and they were hooked. The couple was looking to change careers and pursue a business opportunity that would enrich their lives and after only a few months of training at BODYTEC Lynnwood started the process to open their own studio. They achieved this in record time, opening the Erasmuskloof studio in March 2017.
Running a studio has been as rewarding as she anticipated, says Angelique and she enjoys meeting new members and forming new friendships. Angelique is exceptionally proud of her team who have helped rank the studio in the top five nationwide.
GETTING OUT AND ABOUT
Angelique’s daughter Caprice is already a keen cyclist and regularly competes in the Like to Bike events on weekends. Angelique joins her on the 2.5km cycle, running alongside her, which she says is a beautiful way to spend time together. The whole family, including Martin’s son Levi, enjoy outdoor activities, and even their dog Pebbles joins them on their excursions. Angelique says the Gajica Runs, Adventure Trails and the My Run Sundays in Hazeldean Valley are some of her favourite events to run in.
BACKED UP BY BODYTEC
Running an EMS studio keeps her busy, but Angelique continues to commit to her weekly 20-minute session. As well as giving her essential ‘me time’ she says the training supports her endurance with trail running and also keeps her mentally fit. The three things that get her through the day? The Bible, her team and WhatsApp!
PAST TO PRESENT
Sports science and human movement have always interested Angelique, and although she enrolled to study the field, life instead took on whirlwind travels, with time spent living in the UK and the USA. She says charity work also forms a pillar in her life and she runs an organisation called Hearts United Giving Support (HUGS) which helps get the community involved in charity events and programs. She also runs a Balloon business called Voila. The family are also members of the Household of Christ, which Angelique says forms the foundation and strength of everything she does.
Angelique is the owner of BODYTEC Erasmuskloof and BODYTEC Brooklyn.
