Our newest BODYTEC studio owners, Noma and Maria, are both global marathon runners, medical professionals, and (just as we are) hooked on BODYTEC EMS training.
For Medical Technologist, Nomampondo Camane, all it took was a free trial at BODYTEC Sandton to trigger her entrepreneurial spirit. After a detour back into a corporate job, a few years later she is now ready and excited to take the plunge into self-employment and launching the Morningside studio with her friend and now business partner, Maria Zuccolo. If you’re a BODYTEC member or have had an EMS trial before, we’re sure you can totally relate to the awe of that first session.
As runners, both were quite curious about how EMS training would improve their athletic performance. Being a Medical Doctor, Maria said that she was pleasantly surprised to learn of all the scientific research backing BODYTEC training and that launching the Morningside studio not only aligns with her values as a health practitioner but with her love for physical activity as well.
Several of Maria’s patients had tried BODYTEC training, and she was intrigued by the idea of improving her strength and stamina without conventional gym equipment, which she finds intimidating at times.
The two have completed ultramarathons across the globe, a 90km distance only fit for the strong-willed. They aim to share their love of fitness with the Morningside community and to one day receive the Comrades accolade called the Green Number, which signifies the completion of 10 ultramarathons.
