Training at BODYTEC to build your speed, endurance and strength is one thing, but we wanted to give our clients a chance to show us what they can do outside of the studio. So in the pursuit of fun (and a bit of healthy competition), BODYTEC joined the Outsurance KFM Gun Run and challenged our clients, owners and trainers to conquer the road race on 16 October 2016 in Cape Town. The event included a 21km run, 10km run/walk and a 5km run/walk.
In total BODYTEC had 44 participants which consisted of clients, owners and trainers. Tanya Posthumus, a BODYTEC client who trains at BODYTEC Century City, incorporates EMS strength training sessions once a week as part of her cross-training routine which contributes to her training for running. Tanya completed the 21km in 1:29:49 (1 hour and 29 minutes), a great time for her, experiencing the benefits of EMS training.
All clients were given a free BODYTEC T-shirt to run in and we had a tent at the finish to welcome and refresh them after the tough race. Check out the fun we had on the day:
