Training at BODYTEC® to build your speed, endurance and strength is one thing, but we wanted to give our clients a chance to show us what they can do outside of the studio. So in the pursuit of fun (and a bit of healthy competition), BODYTEC® joined the Outsurance KFM Gun Run and challenged our clients, owners and trainers to conquer the road race on 16 October 2016 in Cape Town. The event included a 21km run, 10km run/walk and a 5km run/walk.
In total BODYTEC® had 44 participants which consisted of clients, owners and trainers. Tanya Posthumus, a BODYTEC® client who trains at BODYTEC Century City, incorporates EMS strength training sessions once a week as part of her cross-training routine which contributes to her training for running. Tanya completed the 21km in 1:29:49 (1 hour and 29 minutes), a great time for her, experiencing the benefits of EMS training.
All clients were given a free BODYTEC® T-shirt to run in and we had a tent at the finish to welcome and refresh them after the tough race. Check out the fun we had on the day:
